Frequently Asked Questions

How are prayer times calculated in the UK?⌄

Namaz Buddy applies Moonsighting Committee parameters, Shafi‘i Asr and a −3 minute sunrise adjustment to each city’s coordinates. It is not a live copy of the London Unified Prayer Timetable or a mosque timetable; if they differ, follow the mosque board.

Do London boroughs have their own times?⌄

Yes. Newham, Tower Hamlets, Brent and the other boroughs have their own coordinates. Search or pick from the list.

What about Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?⌄

Yes. Cities and towns across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are listed, plus the London boroughs.

Is this an official mosque timetable?⌄

No. Congregational iqamah is set by each mosque. This page is the unified start times; if they differ, the mosque wins.

What is Namaz Buddy?⌄

An Islamic quiz app. Prayer times, Qibla and Adhan are tools. The daily reason to open it is the match and Hal.
